Step One

Edge banding will be applied to the exposed edges of the plywood prior to assembly.

Cut the pieces for the legs, side and divider frames, and side and divider panels. With the pocket hole jig set for 1-1/2″ material, drill pocket holes in each end of the 2×2 frame pieces. Secure the frame pieces to the legs using glue and 2-1/2″ pocket hole screws.

Set the pocket hole jig for 3/4″ material and drill pocket holes in each end of the 1×2 frame pieces as well as all four edges of the panels. Secure the frame pieces to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. Insert the panel, then secure using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. The back face of the panel will be flush with the back face of the legs and frame pieces.

Step Seven

Cut the piece for the top. Cut the notch using a jigsaw or bandsaw. Another option would be to draw the lines for the notches and rough-cut just outside the lines. Secure the top to the frame using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails. Use a router with a flush cutting bit to cut the front edge of the top to match the front of the cabinet.
