Power Tools for Pink with PureBond Plywood

The First Annual Power Tools for Pink Event to Benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with PureBond

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise awareness, the folks at PureBond (makers of fantastic formaldehyde-free plywood) have put together an event to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). I am proud to be participating the first annual “Power Tools for Pink” event!

According to the BCRF website, their mission is as follows:

“The mission of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. Currently, 91 cents of every dollar spent by BCRF is directed towards breast cancer research and awareness programs.”

So with that being said, I (one of many other DIYers and bloggers) was invited to build a table using PureBond plywood, keeping with the breast cancer theme, and auction it via eBay Giving Works with 100% of the proceeds benefiting BCRF! So I put my thinking cap on and created a table specifically for this benefit… Presenting the Hexagon Folding Table!

Isn’t she gorgeous? The leg panels are hinged so the base folds, and the table can be stored when not in use but why would you want to hide her?? I painted her using Valspar Pantone Universe in Cabaret and finished her with five coats of Minwax Polycrylic. Stunning!

If you’d like to bid on her at eBay Giving Works, please do so! Like I said before, 100% of the proceeds will go to BCRF! Take a look at her HERE… The auction will be live starting October 1 until October 10.

Bid and bid generously, my friends! Spread the word… We CAN find a cure and Breast Cancer Research Foundation needs our help! Thank you so much to the folks at PureBond for organizing a wonderful benefit for breast cancer research!

I was not compensated or asked to mention any of the products or companies in this post. I was not compensated for the materials used to build the table – I used my own lumber and supplies. It wouldn’t be for charity if I got paid for it!

We have two more days to get the bids moving up. As of this morning the bid is stuck at $52. It is a beautiful table, great value, and free shipping. I don’t really need a pink table but if I win the bidding I know just the little girl to give it to. She has been battling cancer for almost four years and her seventh birthday is rapidly approaching.
