An Easy to Build Table, Part of a Collection
This is the final piece in the Brooklyn collection. We started with the Brooklyn chair and then the Brooklyn bar stool. The free plans to build a Brooklyn Table are easy to customize so that either the chairs or bar stools can be used with it just by changing the height of the leg in the plans!
Like the chair or bar stool, this table will work equally indoors or out! I think it would be fabulous in a breakfast nook or even as a game table in a family room!
If building this project at regular table height, the length for the legs is in brackets in the cut list!
Materials:
- 2-1/2″ pocket hole screws
- 2-1/2″ screws
- 1-1/4″ brad nails
- Edge banding
- Finishing supplies
Lumber:
- 2 – 2×3 at 8′
- 1 – 2×3 at 4′
- 1 – 2×4 at 6′
- 1 – half sheet of 3/4″ plywood
Cut List:
- 4 – 2×4 at 35-1/4″ {29-1/4″} – Legs
- 4 – 2×3 at 22″ – Side Stretchers
- 2 – 2×3 at 42″ – Upper Stretchers
- 1 – 2×3 at 39″ – Lower Stretcher
- 1 – 3/4″ plywood at 27″ x 48″ – Top
Step One
Cut the pieces for the sides. Drill pocket holes in each end of the stretcher pieces. Position on the legs as shown and secure using glue and 2-1/2″ pocket hole screws.
Step Two
Cut the pieces for the longer stretchers. Drill pocket holes in each end of the lower stretcher. Position in the center of the lower side stretchers and secure using glue and 2-1/2″ pocket hole screws. Position the upper stretchers as shown then secure using countersunk 2-1/2″ screws.
Step Three
Cut the piece for the top. Apply edge banding, if desired. Secure to the leg frame with the ends overlapping by 2″ and the sides overlapping by 1″ using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails.
Finish as desired!
The free plans to build a Brooklyn Table complete a really neat (and super-easy) collection. It is also very inexpensive to create this set whether the bar height or regular height are chosen!
