A Beautiful Update to an Old Chair
Are you tired of hearing me gush about my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore? So sorry but I keep finding some of the most awesome things there that end up becoming fabulous projects!
I found this cute chair – wing back with wood trim and casters – for $10.00! I was so excited and I already knew what I wanted to do to it. So with a fresh coat of paint on the wood and some fab new fabric, she has gone from drab to high style!
I started by removing all of the old fabric. I saved the pieces to use as patterns for the new fabric.
I painted the wood with a Valspar sample in Herb Cornucopia, then sealed it with Rust-Oleum Ultimate Polyurethane in Satin. I replaced the fabric with cute black and white duck cloth with hot pink piping.
I re-used the zipper for the new cushion, then added the fabric to the back. I spray painted the casters in Matte Aluminum, then secured them with Liquid Nails.
Don’t you think she looks much better? I’m going to put her in my flea market booth before I am tempted to keep her!
