Step One
Cut the pieces for the legs, the side frames, and the side panels. Drill pocket holes in each end of the frame pieces as well as each end of the panel piece. Attach the frame pieces to the panel piece using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails orienting the pocket holes so they are facing out. Attach to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.
Step Two
Cut the pieces for the back frame and panel. Drill a pocket hole in each end of the frame pieces (the dowels) as well as each end of the panel. Attach the frame pieces to the panel using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails. Make sure the pocket holes are facing the same way as the pocket holes on the panel. Attach to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.
Step Three
Cut the pieces for the front stretchers. Drill one pocket hole in each end. Position as shown and attach to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.
Step Four
Cut the pieces for the dividers and drill pocket holes in each end. Position as shown and secure using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.
Step Five
Cut the piece for the top. The top will overlap by 1/2″ on each side. Secure to the table frame using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails.
Step Six
Cut the pieces for the drawer. Drill pocket holes in each end of the side pieces as well as all four edges of the bottom. Assemble as shown using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. Install the drawer slides according to the manufacturer’s instructions setting them back 3/4″ from the front face of the opening to allow for the drawer front. Follow this easy tutorial on how to install drawer slides. Make any necessary adjustments.
Cut the piece for the drawer front. This easy tutorial will make installing drawer fronts a breeze!
Finish as desired!
I really love this coffee table! I may add it to the “to build” list but that list continually gets longer instead of shorter! Will you add this plan to your list?
