My Fantastic Chair Makeover

My Fantastic Chair Makeover

Are you tired of hearing me gush about my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore? So sorry but I keep finding some of the most awesome things there that end up becoming fabulous projects!

My Fantastic Chair Makeover SANY2298

I found this cute chair – wing back with wood trim and casters – for $10.00! I begged Matt to cram it in the back of his car! I already knew what I wanted to do to it. So with a fresh coat of paint on the wood and some fab new fabric, she has gone from drab to high style!

I started by removing all of the old fabric. I saved the pieces to use as patterns for the new fabric.

I painted the wood with a Valspar sample in Herb Cornucopia, then sealed it with Rust-Oleum Ultimate Polyurethane in Satin. I replaced the fabric with cute black and white duck cloth with hot pink piping.

I re-used the zipper for the new cushion, then added the fabric to the back. I spray painted the casters in Matte Aluminum, then secured them with Liquid Nails.

Don’t you think she looks much better? I’m going to put her in my flea market booth before I am tempted to keep her!

Until next time,

Happy Creating!

Cher just a couple of thoughts. First you are so talented. That upholstery job is wonderful and the colors are striking (whatever that means.). Second your Restore has a lot better prices than mine.

Thank you so much, Jake! I guess we’re lucky that our ReStore is so reasonably priced. I find tons of great deals there where I can’t find any at our local thrift store. They seem to be way overpriced! Thanks again!!

Gorgeous!! Love, love, love it! And $10?! Amazing snag!

Thank you, Jenna! It was such a great deal I couldn’t pass it up! I love how it came out and my daughter keeps trying to sweet-talk me into giving it to her! Thank you for stopping by!

Love this fabric choice! And the paint really sets it off. The upholstery looks nice and tight too. Thank you for sharing this awesome redo at All Things Pretty!

    • CherTexter

Thank you very much, Kathy! I really enjoyed re-doing the chair and it was a fight between the kid and the cat as to who was going to keep it! Thanks for stopping by!
