  • 1 – 2×2 at 8′
  • 3 – 1×2 at 8′
  • 1 – half sheet of 1/2″ plywood
  • 1 – full sheet of 3/4″ plywood

  • 4 – 2×2 at 16-1/4″ – Legs
  • 4 – 1×2 at 18-3/4″ – Side Frames
  • 2 – 1/2″ plywood at 3-1/2″ x 18-3/4″ – Side Panels
  • 2 – 1×2 at 42″ – Back Frame
  • 1 – 1/2″ plywood at 3-1/2″ x 42″ – Back Panel
  • 1 – 3/4″ plywood at 21-3/4″ x 45″ – Shelf
  • 2 – 3/4″ plywood at 6-1/2″ x 20-1/4″ – Supports
  • 4 – 1×2 at 14″ – Fronts
  • 2 – 1/2″ plywood at 3-1/2″ x 14″ – Front Panels

Step One

Cut the pieces for the legs. Cut the taper as indicated using a jigsaw or a tapering jig on a table saw.

Cut the pieces for the side frames and panels. Drill pocket holes as shown. Attach the frame pieces to the panels using glue and 1″ pocket hole screws. The back side of the panel will be flush with the back side of the frame pieces. Attach the side panels to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Step Two

Cut the pieces for the back frame and panel. Drill pocket holes as shown. Attach the frame pieces to the panels using glue and 1″ pocket hole screws. The back side of the panel will be flush with the back side of the frame pieces. Attach the back panel to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Step Three

Cut the piece for the shelf. The shelf is located 2″ up from the bottom of the legs. Measure the legs before cutting the notches, then cut the notches using a jigsaw. Drill pocket holes as shown, and attach to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Step Four

Cut the pieces for the supports and drill pocket holes in each end. Attach to the back panel as shown using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Step Five

Cut the pieces for the front frames and panels. Drill pocket holes as shown. Attach the frame pieces to the panels using glue and 1″ pocket hole screws. The back side of the panel will be flush with the back side of the frame pieces. There will be a right piece and a left piece. Attach using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Step Six

Cut the pieces for the drawers. Assemble the front panel in the same manner as the sides, back, and fronts. The narrower 1×2 will be on the top. Drill pocket holes in each end of the side pieces as well as all four edges of the bottom. Assemble as shown using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws.

Install the drawer slides according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Take a look at this easy tutorial on installing drawer slides.  Make any necessary adjustments.

Step Seven

Cut the piece for the top. The top will overlap by 1″ on each side. Secure using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails.

Finish as desired!
