Step One
Edge banding will be applied to the exposed edges of the plywood prior to assembly!
Cut the pieces for the legs, the side frames, and the side panels. With the pocket hole jig set for 3/4″ material, drill pocket holes in each end of the framing pieces. Secure the framing pieces to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. Locate the framing pieces 1/4″ back from the outside face of the legs.
Set the pocket hole jig for 1/2″ material and drill pocket holes in all four edges of the panels. Secure the panels to the legs and the framing pieces using glue and 1″ pocket hole screws. The back face of the panels will be flush with the back face of the framing pieces.
Step Two
Secure the sides to the bottom using glue and countersunk 2-1/2″ screws. Position the sides so they are 1/2″ away from each edge on all sides.
Step Three
Cut the pieces for the stretchers. Set the pocket hole jig for 3/4″ material and drill pocket holes in each end of the stretchers. Secure the stretchers to the legs using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. Locate the stretchers 1/4″ back from the outside face of the legs.
Step Four
Cut the piece for the shelf. Position the shelf as shown securing in place using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails through the side panels into the ends of the shelf.
Step Five
Cut the pieces for the top panel and the top trim. Drill pocket holes in all four edges of the panel as well as each end of the shorter trim pieces. Secure the side trim pieces first using glue and 1-1/4″ pocket hole screws. Secure the front and back trim pieces in the same manner.
Position the top on the frame so that the top overhangs by 1/2″ on all sides. Secure in place using glue and 1-1/4″ brad nails.
Step Six
Attach the bun feet and the plates to the underside of the bottom according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Finish as desired.
