My son is a musician. He’s pretty good, too, and I’m not just saying that because I’m his mom… Take a listen here.
He asked me if there was any way I could make a stand for his headphones (this may be the only time we ever “collaborate” on a project together!) so we sat down and created a design that would work.
- 2 – 1×3, at 9″ long
- 2 screws
- Wood glue
Let’s get started!
Cut a notch in one of the 1×3 pieces as shown…
Draw a line across the width at the center of the other board and drill two countersunk holes. Attach the base to the board with the notch as shown using glue and 1-1/2″ screws.
My son bought himself a pair of “Skullcandy” headphones and painted the stand to match…
The headphones came with a skull stencil so we put it on the base…
Then sealed the stand with three coats of Rust-Oleum’s Ultimate Polyurethane in Satin…
The headphones fit perfectly and the stand came out great!!
Until next time,
